Maroondah Dam 30km
Ran the Maroondah Dam 30km trail run on the weekend. So that finally proves that I have recovered from the hip injury from last year.

Running into an aid station at 17km
I had forgotten how hilly this run is. It was also really hot that day (about 34oC when I got into the car). I started well, and knew that I couldn't push too hard in the first few kilometres, so I let everyone go. I needed to be able to recover well enough to train hard this week in the leadup to Six Foot Track ultra in Sydney in 3 weeks time.
After the initial shock of the first 3 kilometres, which goes straight up, I settled into a run and started to pull back a few people here and there. I ran with my trailwalker buddies, and soon got into a rhythm again.
It was nice to top out on Mt St Leonards, and then smash downhill for a few K's. Came in about 3h50m which was about what I wanted to do. Very hot and bothered at the end, and a good lie in the creek soon helped me recover.
3 weeks to Six Foot Track and then 8 weeks until I give Trailwalker Melbourne a good nudge with my Purple Toed Sloths team mates.

Congrats on getting over the injury, I don't think I'll ever understand how you can be so determined, the only thing ive never given up on is art, and I'm so damn lazy with it. Idleness will kill me!
Wow... congratulations. I know thats someting I could never do!
